Gallows - Short Drop

These gallows and scaffolding are based on examples of the "short drop" or "new drop" method, which involves dropping the convict suddenly to accelerate death.

This method was eventually replaced in most countries using hanging for capital punishment by the "long drop", which proved more humane.

The model isn't rigged, but every bit of the trap door mechanism is present, and the model is available in "closed" and "opened" positions.
