Unity's Trail Render has hard corners if the attached object is rapidly moving.
This Curve Trail will smooth the hard corners. You simply use this component with Unity's Trail Render, just import the CurveTrail.cs into your project, then attach this script to your game object to produce smooth curve trail.
Tested on Unity 3.4 and 3.5.
